I drank a beer at our new kitchen island...and it was good

The countertops were installed yesterday morning followed by the range hood insert (after this picture was taken). We can't stop walking circles around our new island in disbelief on how far things have come!

The flooring in this picture is not the flooring we're installing. We were using old scraps as spacers to play with the height of a barstool we were trying out (it's complicated). We later realized that we had an old adjustable stool to use for testing various seating heights as we shop for stools.

The counters are grey quartz with white highlights. We loved this look as a lot of the other samples we looked at were the opposite, being mostly white with colored highlights. The subtle grey is nice contrast with our bright white cabinets and backsplash.

And we have a sink now! Well, most of one.

Tile was delivered today so our backsplash tiling should be under way in the next day or so. We are starting to having a hard time containing our excitement as we get closer to a beautiful, functional kitchen.
