Thank you to the man who dug the hole for this footing.

Five days of demo are behind us and it feels like we're approaching the putting things back together phase. The crew is prepping for the structural work which is by far the largest part of this project. Temporary walls are now supporting the loft above the kitchen and the load bearing walls are gone. The main steel beam is scheduled for delivery first thing next week. We'll post the full structural plans when the last of the materials arrive.

A lone worker ran a jack hammer in our dining room all morning only to spend the afternoon digging 2ft. of clay out from beneath. All of which he carried out of our house. The hole is 3ft square and 2ft deep. He had help for a bit but for the most part it was one talented hard working gentlemen that did all this work. If I knew his beer preference he would be drinking on us this weekend.

Here are some photos of the temporary walls doing their thing.

Light switches and outlets just hanging out.
